Seth McFarlane’s Ted is mostly meh
Here’s a quick review I posted on Rotten Tomatoes:
As a big Seth MacFarlane fan, I had to see this, but I was skeptical, because a lot of things could go wrong here and it could end up like a live version of MacFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy, which was basically a collection of leftover cutaway scenes from Family Guy. Ted tries to appeal to MacFarlane’s hardcore fans as well as a large audience, and that actually doesn’t go all to well. The stoner jokes are awesome, the pop culture references are spot-on - particularly those regarding Flash Gordon - there’s decent amount of toilet humor as well as action. When the movie goes into romantic comedy mode, it sucks immensely, it follows cliches without parodying them, and doesn’t recuperate till the end, which comes about twenty minutes too late. After watching it, I just shrugged. Like Jay said in Clerks: ‘Shit or get off the pot’. I hope this is MacFarlane’s worst movie.
6 out of 10 or 2.5 out of 5, something like that. Not re-watchable.

One of my unpopular opinions is that I kinda get pissed off at people who say that they like to get drunk, but they don’t like to smoke weed. The older I get, the more I realize how alcohol is the most destructive drug out there, yet you can legally buy it in any country that doesn’t follow orthodox religious laws. Getting drunk won’t help you with your migraines, nausea or insomnia; it can help you have a good time, but if you can’t achieve that by yourself, you’re one boring motherfucker.
