Free Comic Book Day? Not in my town.
I love Free Comic Book Day and I miss it, damn how I miss it. I live in Split, Croatia. It’s public image is that of a Mediterranean tourist hot spot, but in actuality, it’s a very savage and toxic environment, and definitely the worst place I have ever lived - but that’s another story.
No comic book stores, no Free Comic Book Day. Back when I lived in Zagreb, the centralized nation’s capital, I used to mark Free Comic Book Day on my calendar and visit several comic book stores, scoring some really neat stuff, from mainstream names to indie titles. These are not huge stores, some are even second-hand comic book shops, but they serve their purpose. Now? Nothing. And I miss that, because I love being part of the normal world.
