Stone Temple Pilots, MTV Unplugged, 1993.

Growing up in the 90s meant being glued to MTV. Here’s a slice of that era. It’s in 240p, but never mind. STP are the perfect Unplugged band; those days are long gone, but good music is good music regardless of its release date. I was one of those kids that watched Headbanger’s Ball, Alternative Nation and 120 Minutes, I loved (and still do) Beavis & Butt-Head, I was always into comics and drawing, and my favorite sport was the fine art of pro wrestling. - Vuk, RR

Kylie Minogue in black and white.
Just one of the finer things from the 90s. Black and white photography was all the rage back then, followed by over-saturated videos in the late 90s. But Kylie knew how to rock all styles.

Oh Lawd, it’s Sunday! Make it Rad!

“Pray” was the third single released from MC Hammer’s third album, Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em. Produced by MC Hammer himself, the song heavily sampled Prince’s hit song, “When Doves Cry”, the first and one of the few songs legally sanctioned by Prince to incorporate samples of one of his compositions. The track also sampled Faith No More’s “We Care a Lot”.

“Pray” became Hammer’s biggest hit on the Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at number two, and also become a Top-20 hit in nine countries. In the US, the song was certified gold on November 26, 1990, with sales over 500,000 copies. (Wikipedia)

Dexter’s Lab: Dexter’s Rude Removal

From Cartoon Network, made fourteen years ago, recently published by Adult Swim.

People miss the ‘classic’ Cartoon Network, and Dexter’s Lab was probably THE best cartoon show of that era. These days, I enjoy Regular Show (Ooooh!) and Adventure Time, before that it was Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, but it was definitely awesome when Cartoon Network was packed with Dexter, Cow & Chicken, Johnny Bravo, Courage and many others. The channel would switch to TNT at eight or nine p.m. in Europe, and on Fridays, it was time for WCW Nitro. So a lot of my nerdy teenage Fridays would end with a serving of cartoons, Nitro, and classic movies. I’m not nostalgic, today I have Adult Swim.

My favorite TV show intro EVER.

Raw is War, circa 1997. Metal! This used to get me hyped up. And it kept me interested in the WWF, which I grew up with, because at the time WCW Nitro was kicking serious ass. This isn’t the authentic ‘97 intro, it’s the WWE 13 version, but it’s in HD.
