Mid-Week TV Rewind: Things I have seen
Right. Over the last week, I’ve checked out new episodes of hit shows, and new episodes of totally new shows.
Feared it could go into rom-com/Friends terittory, it did not. Zooey Deschanel knows the perfect balance of quirky, nerdy, cute and girly. Seriously, everyone on that show is doing a great job, it’s fun to watch.
The Big Bang Theory
As a nerd, I’m starting to feel offended by this show. In the first episode of the new season, the joke that really got to me in a bad way was ‘GO SPORTS’. Leonard is a nerd, he would do way more research than opt for ‘GO SPORTS’. Sheldon’s monologue was the only good joke of that episode.
The first episode of the new season balanced between terrible and intriguing, due to the new guys and Jim and Pam’s story. The second episode was better, and even gave me hopes that this final season could end well.
Fry and Davies are back, and right on time, because I needed my dose of intellectual humor, and Q.I. delivers the best goods.
It was good.
How I Met Your Mother
I still haven’t seen the first episode of the new season because I’m skeptical. I’ve stopped watching the show a couple of months ago.
Parks and Recreation
…is still a joy to watch, mostly.
Please, stop. I grew up with this show, it’s okay, we can all let go. When The Simpsons’ Comics get better than the cartoon, you know it’s time to stop.
American Dad and Family Guy
Both Family Guy and American Dad were fun, but I’ve noticed they’ve really amped up the level of violence in both shows. There was no Cleveland Show, and that’s good.
The third episode of Season 6 was way better than that DC Comics Special.
Okay, I’ve recently discovered Danger 5 and have watched all episodes in a row. This show is brilliant, an awesome parody of the spy genre.
