Shaky Stick Figures for True Artists

There’s this trend going on, mostly originating from street art, and it is the trend of drawing shaky, messy, simple, supposedly edgy, raw illustrations. I’m talking about abstract stick figures drawn by people who can’t actually draw, who claim that it’s just their style. The thing is, a lot of these ‘artists’ are copying Neck Face, and are doing it poorly. Art is a calling, having talent is a gift: You’re either born with it, or not. It’s not enough to think ‘hey this is cool, I can do this’, you need to feel an urge for it before everything else. Follow that need to create, not the desire to be cool just because it’s cool to do street art. And if you have talent, you practice, you learn various styles, you develop your own style. When I see people drawing these abominable stick figures and basic patterns, I feel downright insulted, because that shit is incredibly lazy and pretentius. If you do art, you work at it, you evolve. Goddammit! At least Neck Face was original.
